What it means to live low GI (How I live everyday)
What does it mean to live low GI, or what I like to call the Well + Easy way?
Right now, "dieting" might feel like a dirty wordâa word we hate to hear, a word we try to avoid, and yet it's everywhere in every conversation. I like to go back to the roots of the word "diet." It comes from the Latin "diaeta" (and Greek "diaita") meaning "way of life." Diet means way of life.
How opening and freeing that feels in the body. So when I say, "this is my diet," I am saying "this is my way of life." Low GI Living is simply a way of life that follows certain principles to help me continue feeling my best in body, mind, and spirit. Because when I am well within, when I feel good and healthy, my mind is free to think about other things. My life opens up.
Living Low GI means we stop seeking more and more health information. It means we stop jumping onto the next fad diet train. It means we stop allowing influencers to influence our deeply personal concerns, bodies, and lives. It means we stop giving in to the pressure of "you're doing it wrong! Do it this way!"
Low GI Living is a way of life. It's saying, "this is how I live." And that's it.
I am ALWAYS living low GI. I am ALWAYS applying the principlesâin every circumstance where I am eating, all the time. And it's not hard. It's how I live.
And that is my hope for you too. That you'll live in a way that supports your best, healthiest self for now and well into the future. The principles of low GI don't really change over time because the science is based on the human body and the important role of blood sugar. So I share the low GI way regardless of whether you have diabetes or not. Because it's more than that.
Low GI Living allows me and my clients to have wellness, to have lightness of living in our bodies, and assurance as well as strength in our connection to ourselves.
I am not here to promote another fad diet. I am here to offer you a way of life that can support your blood sugar needs, your weight needs, and your overall health needs. Perhaps it's not the cure-all, but it's an excellent place to start.
When you're done with "dieting," I invite you to try Low GI Living.
