You, too, can have freedom from your weight ruling your life.

I was exactly where you are, and my mission is sharing my decade of knowledge on a little thing called insulin resistance—it rules your weight, and there's a simple and practical way to have it work in your favor. All popular diets in the world are based on these scientific principles, and I'm delighted to share them with you.

Welcome to this complimentary—and private— 6-Part Series by Well + Easy for women struggling with health & weight issues due to PCOS, Pre/Diabetes, Peri/Menopause, and other chronic conditions.

Expert: Jen Polk, Low Glycemic Nutritionist & Insulin Resistance Specialist. Founder of Well + Easy, Creator of Whole GI Protocol ™, and author of 7 cookbooks.

Part 1: Weight loss... it's not about calories

Before becoming a nutritionist, I was a yo-yo dieter. Truth is, I didn’t know how to change my life. I didn’t know how to maintain my weight after 30— you know, the age when your body suddenly decides it wants to start storing fat instead of burning it off for you.  So I tried everything. I mean, why not. Right?

Well, through my nutrition studies, and getting certified, I studied over 100 different dietary theories. I still hit a deadend because, which diet was right for me?

Then I began studying the human body, hormones, metabolism, and… viola! Stablizing blood sugar triggers insulin which triggers fat burning

My one and only goal has always been to keep burning fat as easily as I did most of my life. And while it’s not exactly the same, because I can’t stuff my face with pizza and hamburgers every night, can keep my body in fat burning mode

This is a really big deal.

But when I look around in the diet world, the only ones talking about low GI, blood sugar and insulin, are diabetes organizations. Why is that?

This diet is not as cute as keto or paleo or the raw foods diet. It’s not as easy to “sell” people on because it’s been tied together with specific health conditions. But at the end of the day, this way of eating equals a revved up metabolism and that equals fat loss.

My goal is continued and permanent fat loss and balancing blood sugar in the body does this. It’s a natural function of the body! For most people, like you and I, this function just needs to be reset. The good news?

Your body’s ability to burn fat can be reset entirely by nutrition. And while exercise is highly encouraged for a host of other health benefits, it’s not required.

A little about blood sugar and hormones

Here’s the thing, hormones control both the burning and storage of fat. But your fat burning and fat storing hormones have to be triggered by something, and that something is the amount of sugar in your blood.

Skip dieting, and simply pay attention to blood sugar

Paying attention to blood sugar levels is, in my opinion, the #1 key to weight loss, healthy weight maintenance, relief from chronic conditions, lasting energy levels and a fired up metabolism all day long. The 5 day meal plan you received when you first joined the Well + Easy list, follows the low glycemic/blood sugar guidelines to the exact science.

The Kitchen Checklist is for you to understand the foods you already have in the kitchen that you can start making meals with. It's the staples that I personally think everyone needs.

Insulin resistance is why you're not losing weight, and eating low glycemic whole real foods is the solution.

If you’re struggling with this right now, let me know what's going on by submitting a message below.
